What's new?

Campus expansion to meet rising demand for accommodation

An extension will be built on the neighboring property of the DEHOGA Campus Calw in the coming months. DEHOGA will convert the existing building there into modern accommodation with a motel concept for the vocational students, adapted to the living situation of the neighboring campus. This will create 70 additional beds for the future skilled workers attending the school in Calw. The entire, expanded campus will then have 380 beds. Completion is planned for the first quarter of 2026.

The background to this measure is the recent sharp rise in pupil numbers. The purchase is being made by the non-profit DEHOGA Baden-Württemberg Servicegesellschaft; membership fees will not flow into the project. The DEHOGA Baden-Württemberg support association will subsidize the measure. The total investment amounts to around four million euros, including the purchase of the land and the renovation of the building.

“By creating a long-term central solution for additional accommodation, the association is fulfilling its responsibility towards the training companies and the trainees themselves,” says Fritz Engelhardt, explaining one of the reasons for the commitment.
